Smithco's Baja 66 Chevy (SID tweak) 1.2.1
There are now two zips. The standard v1.0 and the v1.2.1 which replaces 4 trucks, Meant for MP racing.
Please read: http://www.oovee.co....note-on-tweaks/
For the time being, this will be my last tweak of SID's vehicles. He has kindly requested that no more tweaks be uploaded of his models after this Baja truck, and for very good reason. Please read the thread at the top to know why, and PLEASE don't flood SID with messages with requests to upload his tweaked vehicles.
As a General rule: A Proper Tweak = Significant XML overhaul(power, suspension, handling) + New Paintjobs/Textures + Tire Changes + Add-ons + Community Demand.
Smithco's Baja 66 Chevy (SID tweak) is all about controllable speed! I was actually very surprised that I was able to achieve this tune as I haven't seen anything handle as well at high speeds(maybe I just haven't found one yet!). The pictures are from a new map that Blackwater is working on, and hopefully we will have some amazing off road racing in our future! This truck is very fun on any map, and can still crawl in low gear quite well.
THIS TRUCK WORKS BEST WITH 4x4 ENGAGED AND DIFFS LOCKED AND THE GAME IN CASUAL MODE.
-Sorry hardcore guys, but to get proper handling for a race truck in a Mud simulator, I had to make some sacrifices. 4x4 with no diffs is a lot of fun, but hard to control! Try going into a corner with diffs unlocked, then locking them as you recover for a decent powerslide
Tweaks:
-Suspension lowered and retuned as well reworked power curve.
-Steering has been altered significantly, making powerslides and high speed recoveries possible.
-2 types of wheels to choose from with Stadium, Hard and Soft compounds. (Default is Baja T/A Stadium)
- 2 Spare tire, fuel and tool options. This effects the handling quite a bit, but I see it as a fair trade-off for extra fuel and repair points.
-4 new paint jobs(more to come): Baja white and Baja Brown, B&S Racing Red and Groovy Powder Blue.
-A few tire textures changed.
-The damage is quite high at 3500, as high speed driving is quite punishing.
THIS WILL DISABLE ACHEIVEMENTS AND MULTI-PLAYER
INSTALLATION:
- Back-Up your Media Folder \Steam\SteamApps\common\Spintires\Media
- Unpack Zip File into game Media folder \Steam\SteamApps\common\Spintires\Media
- This mod will replace the UAZ, ZIL..
-RACEPACK replaces the UAZ, ZIL, MAZ and KAMAZ.
- To uninstall, simply delete Media folder and replace with the Back-up you made.
Credits-
Spun In Darkness: Nearly everything! The original 66 Chevy (model from Sketchup, but significantly edited by SID), many remaining textures, wheels converted to work in ST from Sketchup models, toolbox and gas tanks, original gearing and suspension setup XML's, Spare tire xml's.
Smithco- Current vehicle suspension, steering and power setup, paintjobs, some edited textures, Hacking up SID's various ST vehicle models and .xml's to make this work.
-A very special Thanks to Spun In Darkness for allowing me to use and abuse his work for the enjoyment of all!
-Thanks to Norsa for the inspiration and his idea for off road racing maps (plenty of maps to come, i hope! )!
-Thanks to Blackwater for hooking me up with a map to test this baby on!
-Thanks to LetsRockandRoll for his tutorial on combining addons!
HAVE FUN!
